Mad Studio is a Portland, Oregon-based architecture and interiors studio that believes great spaces should be beautiful, creative, and a little unexpected. We collaborate closely with our clients to make every project feel personal — whether that's a space plan and concept, new construction, construction coordination, or hunting down the perfect materials and furniture.
Mad Studio is led by Madeline Tartakovsky, AIA, a licensed architect in California, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Minnesota — Columbia grad and UC Berkeley M.Arch alum. Her career spans a range of firms and project types, from large-scale commercial work at places like SOM to fast-moving, detail-driven interiors at studios like Rapt Studio. When she's not designing, you'll find her hiking the trails of the Pacific Northwest, where she resides, or spending summers on Madeline Island in northern Wisconsin helping run her family's inn. A true creative at heart, her artistic pursuits extend well beyond architecture — from drawing and watercolor to weaving beautiful textiles on a floor loom.
